How Do Airlines Create Value?

Sometimes the value created by a company is masked. In the 1980s Disney created significant value by tapping into their vault of old films (which had been seen of minimal value) and put them out on video. Many saw GE as a manufacturing juggernaut but in the 1980s and 1990s a significant portion of its value came from its lending arm - GE Capital.


I enjoyed this video because it reveals the source of value in the airline industry — and it’s not that $200 round-trip fare you bought last week. 🤪
