The WSJ has been on a roll recently about how investment firms should only focus on profits, not social matters. Yet when colleges seek to maximize profits from their athletic programs, suddenly profit optimization is bad.

One issue i now have with "college football" is that most are getting a tuition free education for a period of time. if they are permitted to profit from playing, they should pay tuition to attend the school as all other students are required.
