More Northern Soul

I realize I have posted about Northern Soul before. But I came across this BBC documentary on the music and in typical BBC fashion, it is very well done. You get a better understanding of how in the industrial cities where it took hold, it was in a way to rebel against the music that was popular in London and the rest of England. That the fast beat preferred by Northern Soul fans was symbiotic with the drugs which were a key ingredient to the all-night dances. And you'll learn that one of songs that is credited with starting the movement was by the Four Tops.

But I don't want to give it all away. A fun way to spend an hour.

I love music! (But I'll pass on the bell bottoms.)
