The Christmas season is upon us,
And watching movies is an absolute must!
So pull up your anchor and let's dive in -
My review of Christmas flicks is about to begin.
Is "Die Hard" a Christmas movie or not?
For me that's not a Gordian knot.
John McClane, you must agree, is not a Who
So no "Die Hard" in my Christmas movie queue.
And now, if you let your eyes awondah
You'll see the man whose name is Wanda
No, that's not him behind the tree
But you can reach him on channel three.
Almost forgot about "Miracle on 34th Street"
I hope for that I don’t take any unnecessary heat
Kris Kringle, yeah he’s a pretty great guy
It’s just Maureen O’Hara’s ‘tude I don’t buy.
And Clarence, George and that lovely Mary
What would Christmas be without those three
That Harry's toast, man, it always gets to me
As does the little bell, ringing on the tree.
Back to Buddy the Elf, a modern Christmas classic
It makes me laugh so hard I hurt my thoracic
Imagine my wanderabout without Buddy with me
It would be like Christmas, except with no tree.
Of course there’s the Grinch, and Max don’t forget!
I recall when "The Grinch" was only on videocassette
And now he’s everywhere, the whole Christmas season
His small heart, still no one quite knows the real reason.
Can I work in Rudolph and that nose of his?
I’m up to the challenge, at least I think I is
Clarice, the Abominable and Yukon Cornelius
That Claymation stuff is really quite ingenious
A Christmas Story -- one I watch every year
The Mom breaks the lamp and sheds not a tear
Fra-gil-lay, the Red Ryder and Victor the horse
Watch it Christmas Eve at 8, on TNT, of course.
Friends, I hope your Christmas is great
December 25 is such an extra special date
I hope all of your Christmas dreams come true
It sure is wonderful to have friends like you.
I wish I was smart enough to rhyme this.....
You should check out a really good flick that has been lost to time -- "It Happened on 5th Avenue". It was second only to "Miracle on 34th Street" in 1947 . . . and, ironically, both were late spring, early summer releases. 5th Ave had a plethora of soon-to-be stars, including Gale Storm, Don DeFore, and Allan Hale, Jr., and several veteran character actors. Give it a view!
👏👏👏👏👏
Merry Christmas Lucian.
