Road Trip in the Blue Ridge Mountains: Hikes, Hush Puppies and a Retro-Chic Mountain Lodge

Yikes. I flagged this article from the WSJ but when I began to read it, I had a visceral reaction. I don’t want to be given directions to how to spend 72 hours on the road! Nothing against the author; I have developed this reaction for two reasons. One is that I have really enjoyed the mysteries of my trip. Second is that travel guides have changed Charlottesville. Too often I don’t feel this is my town but a tourist town. I understand that I am also a tourist when I visit places but they come by the hundreds to our town.
