I affectionately refer to this gentleman as "Sign Man." During my time here, I have known him to locate himself on or over the Bypass near downtown and hold up signs in protest of various issues.
This is the first time I have seen him near The U. and protesting UVA-specific themes.
The noose sign is in reference to a noose found around Homer's neck last week. The Bert Ellis sign is the new Board of Vistors' member who is somewhere between refreshing and controversial.
And yes, the sky is that blue today. Refreshing low humidity.
Good for the sign man. Peaceful protest is a good thing. We need more of it, no matter the opinion being expressed.
I had read a couple of articles about Mr. Ellis and his appointment to the BOV. It seems as though the status quo doesn't like divergent/outsider points of view in their deliberations. reminds me of the current state of affairs in DC.
