Perhaps it is me but there are not a lot of options that don’t involve interstates in Arizona. Ended up on The 10 from Phoenix. Speed limit was 75 mph through vast nothingness.

If you haven’t read “Blue Highways” you might enjoy it. It was my inspiration to drive the smaller, less traveled roads.

In my mind, interstates rank up there with smartphones as the two biggest mixed blessings in today's technological society. I enjoy driving on smaller roads that let you experience the character of the country through which you are traveling. However, I routinely use the technological marvel of interstates and limited access highways to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible. I commend you for taking the roads less traveled while you are on your journey.
