1,231 Miles

Sedona, Arizona

January 20, 2021

Today started out as a very low energy day. I rallied a bit after my Kaiut yoga class and went to Whole Foods to grab some food. The sky sucked me into a drive to take some photos -- I was drawn in by the blue, blue sky and the billowing clouds. Later in the day the light was awesome so I walked around my neighborhood taking photos of the rock formations. One fellow invited me to go up on his neighbor's deck to take photos. I have no idea how much the house is worth but the view was priceless.

I tried to weed out as many photos as I could. I loved the way the light changed the color of the rocks and the clouds provided a wonderful backdrop.

Archie Bell & The Drells provide the soundtrack even though I am 1,231 miles from Houston, Texas. Archie could have danced all night - I could have taken photos all day.

The 1,231 miles reminds me of the "Jim Wright Rule" that used to apply to flights from Reagan National. Back in the late 1980s I used to fly to Dallas every Monday morning. The flight was 1,192 miles long. Nonstop flights from National were limited to 1,200 miles to limit the size of planes that flew from there. Jim Wright, the Speaker of the House, was from Dallas-Ft. Worth. Convenient, eh?
