164 Draft Blog Posts

I have 164 blog posts in my “draft folder.” They go as far back as 2020. It’s interesting to look at their subjects — a vast majority seem to be about topics I was interested in while a few deal with my thoughts and feelings. Part of me is bothered by this “backlog;”. How did I let myself accumulate so many unfinished posts? That’s the well developed shame response that I have honed over the years. Part of me is interested by the variety of subjects and how one reflects something I was thinking at that time.

Both the shame and tolerant voices agree that the idea of finishing them all seems a bit overwhelming — more than a bit — at this time. Maybe there are a few I should finish. But maybe my collection of drafts tells its own story? There certainly was a time in my life when having such unfinished business would have driven me crazy. Maybe I’ve mellowed (except for the shame!)?
