According To Billboard These Are The Best 25 Pop Songs Of All Time

November 4, 2023

Last month, in honor of the Hot 100's 65th anniversary, the staff at Billboard magazine put together a ranked list of the 500 best pop songs of all time (well since 1958 at least).

And the list really is way too long to even try to summarize. But, basically every popular song you can think of from nearly every genre makes the list. Like, for example, "You're the One That I Want" by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John which landed straight in the middle at 250.

So there is a good chance your faves made this list. But, for this post I decided to focus on just the top 25 songs — where A-Ha just barely missed the cut landing at number 26 — as I want to know whether you agree with their placement or not. Maybe you'll think that another song should have been higher or perhaps you'll think that another song by the artists listed here should have been in the top 25 instead.

Here's the list

25. "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys

24. "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga

23. "I Want You Back" by Jackson 5

22. "Work It" by Missy Elliott

21. "Respect" by Aretha Franklin

Caroline Street

July 17, 2024 There is a Caroline Street in Orange, Virginia. But pretty sure Jimmy Buffett was singing about Caroline Street in Key West. 🤪

Today’s Tune

Some hate this song; I like it. Might be that I used to go to a bar named O’Mallay’s in The Mecca.

Chuck Taylor Converse All-Stars

Charles Hollis “Chuck” Taylor was born in Brown County, Indiana in 1901 and went on to become a professional basketball player (never full-time, just a few semi-pro gigs) long before the NBA was forme
