Ian truly wandering around South and North Carolina today. Google tells me I could have driven here in under two hours; it took me five.

I won’t opine on Confederate statues. I have a different opinion than many Southerners. This statue in Albemarle did make think when it was erected 60 years after the end of the Civil War. Isn’t that a couple of generations removed? Weren’t there better things to do? And as for the “never forget”?

But I had a more disturbing thought. How many Trump statues are there going to be? And you know there will be a push to create a Trump Memorial on the Mall in Washington. OMG.

It’s worse than I could have imagined.
