Classic Steve Noona Tailgate Invitation

Whether it be Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, a southern men’s acapella group, or a Freudian wish to be more than the South Carolina’s Gamecock, there is a lesson to be learned from our friend, the “Chanticleer.” Pride comes right before the fall, even if you are playing doormat football against the newly, transfer-portal-reinforced Cavaliers. Couple the Cocksure Coastal Carolina (say that 3 times) overconfidence with Lucian’s ageless, fall-inspired-optimism, add in a dash of early fall weather, and a new explosive but green, quick as a fox quarterback, and you have all the makings of a possible Virginia victory on the way to their uninspiring but predicted 6-6 record. Regardless of the outcome of this epically foreshadowed battle of morality and wits, come join us for some pregame fun at the Walker/Noona Pi Kapp Memorial Tailgate—573 South starting 2 hours before kickoff. All the usual sustenance—Canes “Chanticleer” Fried Chicken, Spanakopita, Pigs in a blanket, Debbie’s homemade decadent cookies, petit fours, pimento cheese, Dana’s world famous guacamole, Dark and Stormy’s and much, much more. Word is Lucian (the “fox”) and his heaved anchor along with a few other brothers will make a cameo appearance to inspire more HOO optimism. Come if you can, stay as long or as little as you want. Bring friends if you like. SEN/DFW.
