An article headline from the WSJ. Giving parents different options for their kids makes sense. My daughter went to an all girls high school where she wasn't distracted by wanting to dress to impress and dumbing it down so not to intimidate boys. I thought the experience was a positive one for her versus a non- single sex school.

However, I attended an all boys school from fourth through ninth grade. To this day I still think that retarded my social development. When I got to 10th grade, I didn't know who these people were wearing skirts (Catholic school). I never grew comfortable with girls as friends -- they were people to impress and to compete for their attention. Funny/sad at even my age I remember the awkwardness I experienced around girls. Blah!
