Colorado River And Glen Canyon Dam(n)

Page, Arizona

November 16, 2020

Thought this was a neat panoramic photo. I actually took this one! On the right is the 716 foot tall Glen Canyon dam. The river is the Colorado. Above the dam the water is blue; downstream of the dam, it is green due to the algae in the water. The river flows from here through the Grand Canyon and then is damed again near Las Vegas at the Hoover Dam which forms Lake Mead. Glen Canyon forms Lake Powell.

Horseshoe Bend is several miles downstream from here.

More photos later.

Caroline Street

July 17, 2024 There is a Caroline Street in Orange, Virginia. But pretty sure Jimmy Buffett was singing about Caroline Street in Key West. 🤪

Today’s Tune

Some hate this song; I like it. Might be that I used to go to a bar named O’Mallay’s in The Mecca.

Chuck. Thanks. From the “scenic view” area although I scrabbled a hundred yards on the rocks to get this view.

Great photo. I've visited Glen Canyon at least 6 times and I've never seen this view of the dam.
