Ah, Petula Clark. A true beauty.

The Downtown Mall. It’s not Tiffany’s, but it’s not Kmart. It has so much unrealized potential. But it’s out of the way unless you live in the downtown area or Belmont. I’ve lived both places and always enjoyed walking around the several blocks of the mall. In fact, I’d say living in North Downtown and being close to the mall opened my eyes to the benefits of living in a walkable community.

I doubt the mall will ever achieve the — not sure beauty is the right word but let’s go with it — of Pearl Street in Boulder. Pearl Street has high-end stores and bustles. Our mall bustles when there is a concert at one of the several venues and maybe on pleasant Fridays and Saturday nights. On this cool, sunny Sunday morning, it is quiet and peaceful. Almost mindful.
