Happy Dad’s Day

Such a special day. Thank you to all my friends and relatives who are wonderful dads and set an example for me to follow. I haven’t always been the best dad, but I have tried real hard.

And thanks to my kids. I’m really lucky. At this point, I’m learning more from you than you are from me.

And finally thanks to my dad who passed away in 1976. We never really got to know each other. I’m not sure what he’d think of me. I have been a different kind of dad than he was, and if you can believe it a bit more of a free spirit. I don’t think he wouldn’t understand my affinity for Buddy. Or my walkabout. Hope he doesn’t mind. I do know that he’d love his grandkids.

Maybe one day we’ll meet up, and I can ask him where the name Lucian came from. Until then, I’m going with my grandmother’s story that she named her first born son after a little black boy who would visit her when she was pregnant. 🤪
