My friend "Italian Tom" (Tony), sent me some anscentory materials recently about my dad and his family. You are correct -- what an amazing friend to do anscentory searches for me from Italy without my even asking!
My great grandfather's death certificate indicated that he passed away at home in Heards, Virginia. That reminded me that I think my father was born and grew up in Heards. Heards is an unincorporated community in Albemarle County. State Route 633 passes through the hamlet of Heards and connects to Ottoway in the west.

Buddy appears to be ecstatic. But the fact there is a road named Banjo somehow sends chills up my spine. Reminds me of some movie.
