Our government is gaslighting us. The singular focus of the budget process should be on how to reduce our national debt. Instead the focus is on tax cuts. Really? That’s ridiculous. It is a truism that any forecast of the national debt is going to be wrong, with a much higher probability that the debt will grow faster than forecasted. That’s because the forecast does not include one-time, foreseeable ents like Covid, war, etc.

I don’t want my taxes cut.

Here is the Committee for a Respondible Federal Budget’s outlook from 2014. It proves my point that forecasts are optimistic.
