Thanks to a special friend, I became aware of the importance of Justice Ginsburg over the past five years. Not just the importance of what she believed and how she decided cases, but also how she led her life.
It is sad that the loss of one person may change much of the Supreme Court’s perspective for decades. From Obamacare to money in politics to LGBTQ rights to plain old equal rights to unknown issues. ☹️
I suspect conservatives are relishing this opportunity. Where I see hypocrIsy, others will see that how the game is played. And like we were not polarized enough. The next 40 plus days will be brutal. I don’t expect any Republican senator to stand up for what they have said since 2016 about applying the same standard if a Supreme Court opening happened in an election year. Lies.
I’ll be glad to get back on the road and post less about such matters. But first I need to vote! 😁
Words of wisdom. This issue falls in the bucket of “things I can’t do anything about.” Time to meditate! 🙏
Don't get upset and bitter about something until it actually happens. You may well ultimately be right about the political fallout from Justice Ginsburg's death, but jumping to conclusions tends to make you part of the problem, not part of the solution.
