Lying To Me

When I say we are being gaslighted by our government, I often get the response that “well, the Biden administration gaslighted us, too.”
To which I will agree. And to a greater or lesser degree, all administrations in my lifetime have done the same.
Gaslighting is just a fancy way of saying lying. And I don’t understand why we tolerate it. Those who are God fearing especially surprise me with their tolerance. The Bible says lying is a sin.
This post was triggered this morning by a news report that China is denying that any talks are ongoing with the administration regarding tariffs and trade. Trump is saying that those talks are going on daily. Somebody’s lying. My critical thinking tells me it is Trump.
But wait, Biden lied to us! Yes he did. He lied about pardoning his son. And many other times.
Why don’t we draw a line in the sand and say, “Stop it. Stop lying to us.”? We wouldn’t tolerate our friends constantly lying to us. Nor would we do business with those who lie to us.
Don’t lie to me. Don’t make up facts and call them alternative facts. Don’t treat me like I’m stupid — or the enemy.
We all make mistakes. I can forgive well-thought out decisions that turn out wrong (assuming the decision maker will admit the mistake.)
