Hidden Hills

January 29, 2023

It could be that Margot "flew the coop" in order to avoid a fate similar to one of his fellow roosters. Turns out that roosters can be rather aggressive as the above photos show. I found this rooster hiding in a corner of the coop -- hiding so well that I almost did not see him. I was afraid he was dead but after some prodding, he moved. Ken and I removed him from the coop and put him in a separate one. To say he was in a sad state would be an understatement. It took him several hours before he moved and a few more before he pecked at the chicken feed we put in his. coop.

If you think you see blood in the above photos, you do. This rooster had been attacked by a larger rooster and pecked almost to death.

I am glad to report this fellow seems to be recovering well.

Welcome to my webpage.  I'm on a journey across the USA to visit all 22 Paris' - and points in between.  I'll be sharing thoughts, photos and videos along the way - as I search for answers to questions that bother me so.
