My 2,000th Post

Comfort Suites

Tualatin, Oregon

July 13, 2021

I remember when my friend Bruce asked me if I was going to create a blog for my wanderabout. My answer was, to paraphrase, "I think I will. I'll try to post some summary photos and some prose once per week."

Humph. Little did I know. (That reminds me that I still need to fix the blog and get rid of the pages I don't use.)

I thought my map would be a fitting subject for this milestone post. What does it say? I've been a lot of places and seen a lot of things. My trip has been more meaningful than I even hoped it would. I hope I have kept the best of me and have grown in ways that have made me a better person. I also hope that along the way I have made a few folks' day a little bit better -- that would mean a lot to me. I have grown more grateful of my kids, my friends, my family; I know how lucky I am to have them in my life. I continue to know that I am lucky to be here and even luckier to have the ability to take this journey. I have found some answers -- and am glad I am finding more Paris' to visit because I am generating new questions that are bothering me.

It also seems fitting that today I am taking a day off and just staying put -- I am tired.
