In response to Tom, a photo of my sleeping arrangements. My sleeping pad is what makes this setup “comfortable.” Made by Thermarest for car camping.

  6. Fleece neck gaiter

I have two old sleeping pads like the one you show there. I slept on them (alternating 'em) every day from August 1991 'til August 1995. Still have them -- one here in Fairfax, one in C'ville) that I use for my floor exercises. They are WONDERFUL!!!!
