Quality Inn ($89)

Madras, Oregon

October 3, 2024

My return to Madras. I was feeling a bit under the weather yesterday afternoon and decided a hotel room would help. I took a three-hour nap which tells me something. Still dealing with an infected tooth but the antibiotics and Advil help. Good weigh (intended) to lose weight!

Have decided to spend another night here. Madras is not a beautiful town -- although it is located in beautiful country. But it is a neat place to visit. If I feel better later I will play its golf course again. Another nine-holer where I first heard the term "pasture golf." And I remember being impressed by how Mt. Hood which mush be 50 miles away is so visible from the course.

I talked last night with Courtney and Julie on their third anniversary. They are kind to remember my toast and the props I used. I actually am proud of how that all worked out.

It is funny that when given the opportunity I can't seem to turn of the spigot of talking about what I have experienced. I am much more comfortable with the quiet me, but I just seem to blither blather about what I have seen. I did that to Jack on Sunday and Courtney & Julie last night. I guess it is an indication that I am enjoying my experiences but I sure wish I could act more humble about them. 'Cause it ain't about me.
