I started doing Pilates a couple of years ago at the recommendation of my friend Tim. He said that it would help me deal with my scoliosis. Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine - in my case a C curve in the lower part of my back. It can make daily activities painful, which it had done in my case. It also made swinging a golf club difficult and caused a general lack of strength in my back.

Truth is I should have started Pilates three years ago when Tim first suggested it. I have the world’s best Pilates instructor in LeeAnn who has in her cheerful way helped me to manage my scoliosis and become stronger in every way.

Today I did Pilates for the first time in seven months. It felt awesome. I felt even better discovering that in some ways I’m in better shape now then when I left here in August. Flexibility, stretching and core strength are now part of my daily activities. I need them. Not only are they great for me physically, they are great for my emotional health.

Thanks LeeAnn and Tim!!
