Decatur, Illinois

Fairfield Inn ($112)

August 21, 2021

Lots of experiences today.

  1. I went to another town that's name is a name of a fish

  2. I went to the University of Missouri and saw the original headstone for TJ's grave

  3. Columbia is also where the author of Blue Highways started his walkabout.

  4. I went to Mexico

  5. I visited Louisiana

  6. I discovered that while southern Illinois is full of corn and soybean fields, there are more (many more?) small towns in Illinois than in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa.

  7. I learned that I missed the Iowa State Fair and M.T. Greene.

  8. I learned that the Mississippi River divides Missouri and Illinois

  9. I saw what I believe to be the state of the art wind turbines.

  10. I saw a rainbow

  11. I got ice cream in Detroit

  12. I saw lots of cool old houses
