Today's adventure involved me driving to Trinidad on US 101 to close out that leg of the the "PCH" that I had not driven. I got an early start (6 am) hoping to avoid the construction on US 101 by doing the trip in under 3 hours. Ha! Too many photo opportunities -- I got back to my campsite at 2:30 pm.

I'll let the photos do the talking. I benefited a few times by getting off US 101 and driving the "Coastal Trail" in the Redwood National Park. The trail took me right by the ocean. I got lucky with some great early morning light and then got lucky again to find the hiking trails at the Klamath River Overlook. Got in some good steps there.

As I said, I got held up in the road construction on the way back. The classic 90 minute wait where everyone turned off their vehicles and walked around. I took the opportunity to download my photos onto my computer.

Of course, I took a photo of the backup.

Here's the slideshow. Five minutes. Beachy tunes from Jake Owen,
