I guess some might consider this blackboard to be woke. I don’t. As I read these affirmations, my reaction was “ I wasn’t told these as a kid.” Then my heart sank as I thought that I had not said these things to my kids when they were growing up. ☹️

These are important things for kids to hear and UNDERSTAND. My mother would say she was proud of me but never why or how.

Life is tough. Childhood is tough. It is not a weakness to be explicit to kids about how great they are, that they are valuable and loved for who they are — not who we may want them to be.
