Walmart Parking Lot (free!)

Ponderlay, Idaho

Popular overnight spot. There are seven or eight of us taking advantage of Walmart’s kindness to allow us to use its parking lot as our home for the night. I ended up in Ponderlay short of my goal of Coeur d’Aline because my Walmart overnight app told me that overnight parking is not allowed in Coeur d’Aline. 49 miles short of my goal. This works out well as I was tired after a full day. And this area turns out to be be very nice. Sandpoint, which I believe is the adjacent town, looks like a fun place . I explored the upscale downtown area last evening on my way to finding a Safeway. I enjoyed picking up some sushi at Safeway for a healthier dinner than my usual fare.

I hate to admit but I prefer a Walmartparking lot to dispersed camping. Maybe it’s only because it means I have access to a real restroom?

Ok, time to try to get back to sleep. My new little thermometer tells me it’s 72 degrees inside Hi Ho Silver.; the outside temperature is 54 degrees. Good sleeping temperature.
