McDonald's
Arlington, Washington
September 29, 2024, 8 AM
I sure wish McDonald's still served egg whites. Bummer.
I never thought I would use a Pilot video in one of my posts. But yesterday morning was magic. Let's start with the usual collage:
This campground was on the Skagit River and was about as basic as they come. Maybe 30 spots at $15 apiece with some skanky old portapotties. Just outside Marblemount, Washington which in turn is about 15 miles from North Cascades National Park.
The previous evening when I checked the weather forecast, it called for a cloudy day. But when I woke up at 630 AM, the sky looked blue. I popped up thinking I might have a chance to catch some morning sunlight on Diablo Lake, the glacial lake in North Cascades, about 20-25 miles away.
Just down from my campground, I encountered the following view. There was a pasture with cows, with the mountains as a backdrop, fog, sunlight peeping in and leaves changing color. I grabbed my camera and tried to capture the scene. And the scene kept changing as the sun rose and the fog began to lift. A better photographer than I could have made much more of the opportunity than I did but what I didn't have in quality I made up for in quantity!! I hung out here for at least an hour; a few of the cows came over the check out what I was doing. Cows are a curious bunch.
(I am trying a new gallery format -- slideshow. Maybe this will be better than just a bunch of little photos?)
