So many thoughts and feelings prompted by these signs. One that is hanging with me is the descendants of the people in the mobs must carry a heavyweight knowing that one of their ancestors may have been involved in the lynchings.


The lynchings seem so remote for me -- how could these have happened only 100+ years ago? Is it reasonable to believe that the hatred that the members of the mobs felt has evaporated? Im skeptical -- it has to a degree but it is not gone.
