Many Congresspeople were not happy with the military briefing yesterday on the Chinese balloon. One Congressperson from Georgia called it bullshit and full of excuses. Yet, Congress just increased the Defense budget by 10 percent to over $800 billion.
What do we get for $800 billion that we don't get for say $600 billion?

Restocking of a lot of weapons and equipment that has been used up in Ukraine and elsewhere, and research into new weapons for new threats.
I ask what we get for the $5.274 trillion that was NOT defense spending!!! National defense is one of the few constitutionally mandated powers of the federal government, yet we spent 6.5 TIMES that on programs that have made us weak and dependent, no longer the self-reliant individuals we used to be.
