I made the right call to take the train instead of driving to Will Koester's wedding on Long Island. It was as simple as hoping on the train in Charlottesville an connecting at New York's Penn Station to take the LIRR out to Bethpage. (On the way up I spent the night in Brooklyn with Courtney and Julie -- that involved a subway ride to and from.)

I still get emotional riding the Northeast Regional from Charlottesville to DC. I won';t dwell on that here; I'll just say that the train played a critical role in my life. It was incredibly special to have a very special pick me up every Wednesday evening when I returned home from a trying three days in DC.

Below is my feeble attempt to take a photo of the area that was subject to a New Yorker cover earlier this year. Taken while walking Clarke and Daisy in Prospect Park on Friday morning.
