Yesterday I visited Mt. Rainer National Park. At the end of the day, having circumnavigated the park, I stopped at one of the park’s inns to pick up a snack.
As I walked back toward Hi Ho Silver, there was an older gentleman looking at the stickers on it. I nodded to him, he smiled and said, “Going to Paris? Are you a Jimmy Buffett fan? I love that song.”
I was stunned. He is the first person in five years to make that connection! We shared a laugh. I told him that I’d been to 70 Paris’ and got the reaction — or nonreaction — I have come to expect. Few people ever say, “Oh, I didn’t know there were that many.”
As he began to walk away, he turned and said, “Fins up.” 😁
PS — as I look at this photo, I am slightly self conscious that my stickers are, would you say, not very subtle. Hmm. A quiet person trying to share some of his personality and hopefully making some people smile.
