I've heard this song a million times. Then this morning while standing at the sink in Room 315 at the Boulder Courtyard shaving my gray whiskers on my old face listening to Amazon Music (is that the correct order for all of those phrases?), this version comes on. And through Ray's gravelly voice it hits me for the first time what the lyrics are about. I put down the razor and have a good cry.
