One particular sticker is particularly ironic. Shouldn’t ship or work at Whole Foods if you don’t think billionaires should exist.
I have no problem with people becoming billionaires. It likely means they created something of great value (including jobs).
I do think it is reasonable to explore what the appropriate tax regime should be on billionaires. in the United States in conjunction with identifying cuts in government spending.
One final word. You know, probably better that most, that once a governmental agency is created -- regardless of the intentions and the need -- it soon becomes an independent entity whose sole goal is self-perpetuation. It will do everything it can to perpetuate itself, including lying to the public and Congress, whipping up its beneficiaties into a vocal frenzy to keep their position on the teet, even betray the very mandate/mission it was founded for.
Probably the best example of this is the Teachers' Unions -- though not directly paid for by state or local governments, they have perverted the very profession thay claim to represent and champion!
Personally, I do not understand why this isn't self-evident....
You are forgetting that "billionaires" exist in wealth only -- no one makes/earns a billion dollars in a year, maybe not even in five years. Billionaires exist only in the form of wealth, and we don't tax wealth in this country . . . and should not. Wealth is not liquid like a salary or earnings. To tax wealth would nean that that capital would have to me liquidated, i.e., sold, which would mean that each year spmeone would have to sell part of their famil;y farm, their small business, or a large block of corporate stock would need to be sold, thus depressing the value of the company for ALL shareholders.....
