September 23, 2024 — Sandpoint Elks Golf Course And Short Walk Around Sandpoint

A fun nine hole course in Sandpoint. Two sets of tee boxes to make it 18 holes. Flat and straight but holes tended to be longer than I’ve played recently. Lots of driver and 8 iron. Greens had just be punched so rolls were erratic. My drives were mostly straight. I hit a couple of hosel rockets with my eight iron which were more than frustrating. It means I’m spinning my shoulders on the downswing. At least I know what I’m doing wrong when it happens. I need to just be on the range and groove my iron swing. Still too little from the inside.

Went downtown afterward to UPS a box to Lucian. Fifteen pounds of stuff I e picked up since leaving Charlottesville. Stickers, brochures, scorecards, gifts. $66 to ship by ground. Ouch.

So while I was spending money I bought myself a Sandpoint sweatshirt so I can change up my wardrobe a bit. I was feeling a bit woozy and figured I should eat. Since I was near Connie’s Cafe, I stopped in and got an omelette. A real treat!! They had awesome pint glasses and I asked the waitress if they sold them. She said no -/ but she gave me one!! Hopefully my $10 tip was an adequate expression of my appreciation.

Any town with an old camera store is an automatic favorite of mine.
