Let's get this out of the way. You can see from the map above that there is at least one more direct route from Charlottesville to Columbia, South Carolina. But that direct route(s) don't go by South of the Border or Buc-ee's. And there was no one to tell me that I shouldn't take the longer route -- so I did. Being in Camden, where I may have never been, puts me 30 minutes closer on my return to Cville tomorrow -- on a more direct route (through Jefferson, South Carolina).
