I love the Boston accent. My mother grew up in Boston and while she had lost some of her accent by my childhood, I still remember her distinctive pronunciation of “khaki” and “ball.”

Yesterday at the Titleist ball plant, before the tour started I was talking with two gentlemen from Rhode Island. On the television was the final round from Hilton Head from Sunday.

One of the gentleman said, “I really like that kid Vahnah. He has a great attitude.”

The other gentleman, responded, “Who? Vahnah? I like him, too.”

I was confused. Who was the player — I did not recognize the name.

Then I looked at the tv — they were talking about Harold Varner. 🤪
